Zoning: Columbus administers zoning inside the Town limits, between the interstate and the Yellowstone River, west to the Rapelje Road, and east to approximately the end of the airport runway. Well water and septic tank/drainfield concerns: lots under 20 acres in size require approval from the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (www.deq.mt.gov). Building Permit Concerns: there are no building permit systems in the County, however new businesses and residences should check the state building code agencies (www.buildingcodes.mt.gov).
